Real-Time Betting
Live Betting & Cash Out Feature
In-play betting lets you place bets while a match is in progress. Odds shift based on current conditions — goals, red cards and team momentum all affect market values. Markets will pause briefly after a significant event before reopening.
Popular in-play markets include:
What is Cash Out?
Cash Out lets you settle a bet early at a value calculated from the current live odds. This feature is available on various markets — either in full or partially. Team A winning comfortably? Cash Out and lock in your profit. Team B starting to recover? Reduce your loss with a partial Cash Out.
3 Practical Tips
Set your betting limits before the match starts so your in-play decisions are not driven by emotion.
Watch the live stats — possession, shots on goal and cards can indicate which way the odds are heading.
Use Cash Out strategically — not just out of fear of losing, but when market conditions have shifted significantly.

Betting Glossary
Key Terms You Should Know
Understand the language of betting before you start playing — this knowledge helps you make better decisions.
Asian Handicap
A handicap system that eliminates the possibility of a draw by giving a goal advantage or deficit to a specific team. It is popular for football betting in Asia because it offers better odds value compared to the standard 1X2 market.
Over/Under (Totals)
You bet on whether the total number of goals, points or sets in a match will exceed (Over) or fall short of (Under) a figure set by the operator. For example, Over/Under 2.5 goals in a football match.
Odds Format
Odds can be displayed in three formats — Decimal (1.85), Fractional (17/20), or American (-118). Decimal format is most commonly used in Malaysia because it is easy to calculate potential winnings.
RTP (Return to Player)
A percentage showing how much money is returned to players over the long term. An RTP of 96% means, in theory, RM96 is returned for every RM100 wagered over the long run.
House Edge
The mathematical advantage held by the casino in every game. It ensures the platform always has a long-term edge — so it is important to play for entertainment, not as a steady source of income.
Wagering Requirement
The number of times you must wager the bonus amount before winnings can be withdrawn. At shell999, the bonus wagering requirement is 20x the bonus received — among the most player-friendly terms available.
Live Dealer Casino
Casino games streamed live with real human dealers via high-quality video. You can watch cards being shuffled and dealt in real time — a physical casino experience without leaving home.
Slot Volatility
Measures how often and how much a slot pays out. Low volatility slots pay frequently but in smaller amounts; High volatility slots pay rarely but with greater win potential; Medium is a balance of both.
Progressive Jackpot
A jackpot that grows each time players place bets across a network — until one player wins it. It then resets to a base value and starts growing again.
Cashback
A portion of your net losses is returned as credit or cash — usually calculated weekly. At shell999, weekly cashback is given according to your VIP level, from 0.2% to 0.8%.
Mix Parlay
A type of bet where you combine several match selections on one ticket. All selections must win for you to win — the risk is higher but the potential combined payout is much greater.
Esports Betting
Betting on professional video game matches such as Mobile Legends, DOTA 2 or CS2. Markets are similar to traditional sports — match winner, handicap, and total kills are available.
Facts vs Myths
Common Myths in Gambling
Many widely held beliefs about gambling are not grounded in fact. Let us address them one by one.
⚠ Common Belief
"A slot that has not paid out for a long time is bound to pay out soon."
✓ The Real Fact
Every slot spin is run by an RNG (Random Number Generator) that is completely independent. Previous spins have no influence on the next result whatsoever.
⚠ Common Belief
"After several consecutive losses, a win must be on the way."
✓ The Real Fact
This is known as the "Gambler's Fallacy". Every round is an independent event — past patterns do not guarantee any outcome for the next spin.
⚠ Common Belief
"There is a betting system that can guarantee wins at baccarat."
✓ The Real Fact
No betting system — including Martingale — can overcome the house edge in the long run. Baccarat is a game of chance with a fixed house edge.
⚠ Common Belief
"A larger deposit increases your chances of winning."
✓ The Real Fact
Deposit size does not change the RTP or odds of any game. A larger deposit simply means you play longer — the house edge remains the same for every bet.
⚠ Common Belief
"Playing at certain times gives more wins."
✓ The Real Fact
The RNG does not change based on the time of day or number of active players. The odds of winning are the same at 3am as at 3pm — there is no such thing as a "lucky hour".
⚠ Common Belief
"Changing games or tables while on a losing streak will help."
✓ The Real Fact
Changing tables does not alter the mathematics behind the game. Past results have no bearing on future results — each table operates independently.
Gambling is entertainment for adults aged 21 and above. Play responsibly, set your limits, and enjoy the experience responsibly.
